Every year millions of people tune in to watch one of America’s most exciting events, the Super Bowl.  This year’s Super Bowl will feature the New York Giants and the New England Patriots.

The two teams met in Super Bowl XLII in 2007 and played one of the most memorable games in Super Bowl history.  The Patriots were on a quest for a perfect season, but had their dreams ruined by a determined Giants team.

This year, the two teams will meet again in Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis, Indiana.  The Giants, a team that barely made the playoffs, are coming into the game with an enormous amount of momentum.  After beating the Atlanta Falcons in the first round of the playoffs, they knocked off the top ranked Packers in Green Bay and then traveled to San Francisco to beat a very good 49ers team for the NFC Championship.

They are led by Eli Manning, who is still looking for respect from many critics.  There will not be much to criticize if he leads the Giants to their second Super Bowl victory in five years. Not only do the Giants have a good quarterback, but they also have a very strong defense and two talented running backs.

The Patriots’ journey to the Super Bowl was a bit different than that of the Giants.  They seemed to have no problem making the playoffs.  They handily beat the Denver Broncos and then held on for a close win against the Baltimore Ravens to clinch the AFC Championship.

Led by superstar quarterback Tom Brady, the Patriots are looking to win their fourth Super Bowl in ten years.  Thanks to Brady and two very talented tight ends, the Patriots have an extremely explosive offense.  Although their defense is subpar, there is no doubt that they will step up big for this game.

It will be interesting to watch the high-powered Patriots offense take on the tenacious Giants defense.  As fans, we can only hope that this game turns out to be as exciting as Super Bowl XLII was regardless of which team comes out on top.
