Read of the Week: “Heaven Is For Real,” by Todd Burpo with Lynn Vincent

This book tells the beautiful story of Colton Burpo and his incredible out-of-body experience while undergoing an emergency appendectomy. Months after the surgery, Colton told his parents that he left his body during the surgery and made a trip to heaven and back, and he authenticates his claims by describing exactly what his parents were doing while he was being operated on. Colton, not yet four years old, describes the wondrous beauty of heaven and relays incredible stories told to him by people he met along his journey to the Pearly Gates. This story, re-told by Colton’s father, offers a truly innocent glimpse of what may await us through the eyes of one special child.
