Listen up, all you over 21ers! Winston-Salem has a new bar in town that is sure to become a Wake Forest favorite. Already the grape vine has worked its magic so that more and more people are making their way down to Fourth Street to check out Foothills Brewing! With homebrewed beers, a clean atmosphere, and plenty of seating, Foothills Brewing is the new place to see and be seen.
Foothills Brewing is a new resturant/bar that offers three different dining menus and an extensive drink menu for patrons. Lunch, dinner, and late night food choices make Foothills a great choice for a new Winston-Salem dining adventure. The variety of choices will satisfy any customer. The bar scene, however, is what drew my friends and I out to Foothills Brewing last week.
We visited Foothills Brewing on an average Tuesday night and were delighted by the fun atmosphere. The crowd was a bit older but not sketchy. For all you girls out there, it seemed like the perfect place to meet law and med students. The variety of homebrewed beers made choosing difficult for most of my friends. Each was pleased with their choice however and complimented the beers profusely. For non-beer drinkers like me, I suggest the Long Island Ice Tea or one of the many special Martini's listed in their drink book.
While Foothill's Brewing offers the type of non-frat party scene many of us crave, it will cost more for this entertainment option. Make sure you plan a night of big spending when you visit Foothills. Homebrewed Beers cost $3.50 while mixed drinks will run from $5 to $9 dollars a piece. There are also an array of appetizers to choose from to keep your late night cravings satisfied. This isn't the type of place you go to for cheap college entertainment.
Word on the street has that there is at least a 30 minute wait at the door of Foothills on the weekend nights, so make sure you plan ahead. Bring a jacket if it's cold outside, an umbrella if it's raining, and good friends to pass the time with. Although the novelty of this new dive should wear off in the next few weeks, the excellent beer and great atmosphere will keep this place in business for a long time. Foothills Brewing is just the type of entertainment option Winston-Salem has been lacking. Seniors, definitely make the trip down to Fourth Street one night before the year ends. You will be pleased with the change of pace and sure to return again.
