Newly opened last year, the downtown restaurant Noma has certainly made its mark both on Fourth Street and in the consciousness of the Wake Forest student. What you may not know is that every Friday and Saturday night Noma transforms from restaurant to night club.
From 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights, Noma features its very own DJ and often has certain themes such as karaoke and costume parties. As long as you are 21 or older you can enjoy this fun atmosphere for absolutely no cover charge!
Noma has two bars, so drinks are always flowing. One other great aspect of Club Noma is that, as its kitchen stays open until eleven, you can enjoy a great night out along with Noma's great food, like its amazing sweet potato fries or a delicious appetizer. Do take into consideration that Noma is downtown, making parking limited. Be prepared, if you go, to park a small distance from the restaurant. (However, if you live on campus, avoid driving altogether and take the University-sponsored downtown shuttle. On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights it leaves every half hour from the Benson circle starting at 8:30 p.m.)
However, as these Club Noma nights are always packed, such a trivial thing as parking does not seem to keep people from coming and enjoying one of the highlights of nightlife in downtown Winston-Salem.
