With less than a month left until graduation, it’s time for all the seniors to savor their last moments at Wake. They’ve likely been busy over the past few months looking for jobs or applying to graduate schools, but while looking to where they’ll go next, have they stopped to consider what they will leave behind for the university?

The Senior Class Campaign offers seniors the perfect chance to celebrate their last days together at Wake while providing an easy way to contribute to the university. Under the leadership of co-chairs Carolyn Harbaugh, Lydia Harter and Brent Sarver, the Senior Class Campaign, comprised of more than 40 students, coordinates monetary contributions from the senior class to the school and plans events for the senior class to enjoy.

Donations to the school, no matter how small or large, grant participating seniors the opportunity to capitalize on great events. “We want every senior to be (at events),” Co-chair Brent Sarver said. “Although we hope seniors will want to give at least $10, even if seniors just want to give $1 that’s fine.”

Seniors, if you have not given yet, don’t worry. There’s still time for you to contribute to the Campaign and take part in the really great end-of-the-year events that have planned:

Tunnel Tours- All seniors who donate to the Senior Class Campaign will be able to enter a portion of the tunnels under Wait Chapel on Wednesday, April 23 from 3-5 p.m. and Thursday, April 24 from 4-6 p.m.

Bell Tower Tours- Seniors who donate $50 or more will be able to enter the bell tower at the top of Wait Chapel. These tours will take place on the same day and at the same time as the tunnel tours.

Dinner with President Hatch- Have you always wondered what it would be like to have dinner with President Hatch? With a contribution of $100 or more to the Senior Class Campaign you could find out. Students who donate at this level will have the opportunity to visit President Hatch’s home for a special dinner on April 23.

Senior Class Send-off- The Senior Class Send-off will be held Friday, April 25 from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Freddie B’s. The send-off is open to any senior who has contributed to the Campaign, and will include free drinks for seniors over 21, free food and entertainment. With Freddie B’s closing forever on April 30, what better way to spend one, last Friday at this beloved social spot than celebrating your time at Wake with your class?

This year, donations to the Campaign will help fund scholarships for incoming freshmen. So, not only will your donations get you into great events, they will benefit the next generation of Wake Foresters. Additionally, donations can be designated to the general college fund or to a specific academic department or organization that you were involved in during your time here.

For more information or to donate online, check out their website. Members of the Senior Class Campaign will also accept donations via cash, check, credit card, or Deacon dollars on the Benson patio during the week of April 21-25 and at all Senior Class Campaign events.
